What at first appears to be a story about the Season of Goodwill, unfolds into a tale of modern suburban living and the true spirit of Xmas. How much do we know about our neighbours and what they think about us? Behind the twitching curtains we discover the Xmas message that the neighbours really want to share with each other.

The South East Coastal Communities Programme was funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England to develop new approaches to community-university engagement.

It brought together nine universities in Kent, Sussex and Hampshire working with a wide range of local communities.

The three year programme involved academics, community members, practitioners and students sharing their knowledge, skills and experience to develop innovative approaches to improving health and well-being.

Projects focused specifically on the needs of socially excluded communities – including older people; people with disabilities; children and young people; Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual (LGBT) communities; Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities; and areas experiencing economic and social disadvantage.
